Vancouver, BC – February 14, 2019: BC Rugby Senior Men’s and Women’s League Games for February 16, 2019, have been cancelled due to continuing poor weather Conditions. All but two of this weekend’s fixtures have been cancelled, with a review taking place tomorrow morning on those exceptions.
The current weather conditions and the forecasts for February 16, 2019 are such that field conditions most likely jeopardise Player safety which would be in contravention of Law 1.1 of the Game. There is also the potential of safety risk in terms of transit to venues. Therefore in accordance with the Rules of Competition guiding principles to ensure Player Safety, the BC Rugby Competition Committee has cancelled all scheduled matches this weekend with some exceptions.
The following Premier Men’s and Reserve matches are still tentatively scheduled. BC Rugby will be in communication directly with the clubs involved regarding the final decision regarding the field conditions.
