About the Tournament
The Masters XVs is a single-day Old Boys Tournament held at Connaught Park, taking place on March 6, 2020. A rugby event specifically for the Over 35s age bracket, the Masters XVs is a celebration of the lifelong appeal of our sport and a chance for old friends and foes to take to the field once again. A morning of Rugby matches, followed by food and drinks in the clubhouse is guaranteed to rekindle some of your fondest memories and act as the perfect warmup to the 2020 HSBC Canada Sevens.
The proximity of the Vancouver Rugby Festival to the HSBC Canada Sevens Tournament means this is more than just a day of competition. Once again, players and staff taking part in the Masters XVs will have exclusive access to reduced rate tickets for both Saturday and Sunday’s action at BC Place, as well as exclusive accommodation deals. This gives teams access to a perfect combo of playing and watching some of the best examples of Rugby Sevens anywhere in the world.
Venue - Connaught Park
The tournament will once again be proudly staged at the Connaught Park and the Meraloma Rugby Club House in Vancouver's Kitsilano neighbourhood. BC Rugby acknowledges that the land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Attendees are reminded to be respectful to local residents when parking in the area.
Why not take the headache of driving out of the day altogether? Contact Brynna Walker (firstname.lastname@example.org) for information on accommodation deals with free transport too and from the event.
HSBC Canada Sevens Tickets
All teams that enter the Masters XVs are sent an exclusive discount code for GA tickets to the 2020 HSBC Canada Sevens (Weekend or Single Day options available). This means you can kick back and relax after the Masters XVs and watch world-class Rugby Sevens action with your teammates and save a little extra cash for beer.
VRF Hotel Partners
Working with Sport Hosting Vancouver, we have secured some exclusive accommodation deals in downtown Vancouver for around the Vancouver Rugby Festival. Not only are these hotels within easy reach of BC Place for the HSBC Canada Sevens, but they will also provide free transport too and from Connaught Park on March 6. So why not take the hassle of transportation out of your planning for the Masters XVs this year.

All teams coming from outside of BC and Canada must submit a “Tour Sanctioning Application” form and relevant fees to Rugby Canada.
Unsure if you need to complete an application? Here is a guide:
• Teams from outside of BC - All teams wishing to travel to another province within Canada need to be sanctioned by the home Provincial Union and the destination Provincial Union.
• Teams from outside of Canada - All tours travelling to Canada must be sanctioned by Rugby Canada and the destination province and subsequent Provincial Union(s). Furthermore, World Rugby requires that all teams must have Home National Union Sanctioning Approval prior to touring.
• Teams from BC - No sanctioning needed.
Application Process: Upon clicking the link above, select Tours. A SportLoMo account is required to complete the application. Please ensure to submit a sanctioning application at least two weeks in advance of any event seeking approval and insurance coverage. A completed application will meet the following criteria:

• Completed tour roster form for touring side
All rosters must be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org 48hours prior to the departure date.
Applications are entered into processing upon submission. All changes to the listing of participating clubs or players need to be communicated to Rugby Canada staff by email. An expedite fee will be assessed to late applications that do not meet the two-week submission deadline. All of the information above and more is available on the Rugby Canada Touring Page. If you have any questions specifically relating to sanctioning or registration, please contact Marga Sison.
