About Touch Rugby

TOUCH IS POSTPONED INDEFINITELY DUE TO COVID-19

Ever watched rugby on the TV and thought "I could do that", or sat in the stands of BC Place during the Canada Sevens tournament and wished you could have a crack at the action for yourself?  Well, we've got a great solution for you right here!

Touch Rugby is a fast, fun, non-contact variation of one of the world's most popular sports.  Using the same ball, but smaller teams and playing areas, the idea is to use team-work, pace and cunning to outfox your opponents and score in a designated end zone.  Don't worry about black eyes and crunching tackles, the aim of the game is agility and evading the grasp of your opposition.  Plus, it's a super sociable sport and a great way to meet new friends or see a different side of work colleagues.

Who is it for?

Touch Rugby is ideal for everyone!  You don't need to have played rugby before, or even have heald a ball. If you're a fan of fun, fast team sports, you'll be hooked in no time. It's a coed game and everyone gets involved, so don't expect to be sat on the bleachers gathering dust because your teammates need you!

If you've already got a team of friends/colleagues together then great, but you can also sign up as an individual and we'll group you together with others to form a team.  Who knows, these strangers could turn out to be some of your best friends in years to come!

What if I've Never Played Before?

At the first session at all venues, we aim to run an “Intro to touch” session, giving people an understanding of the basics of the game and setting the ground rules for the rest of the season.  All you need is a pair of trainers and a big smile on your face!

Registration for the 2020 season is on hold due to COVID-19.

Keep in TOUCH

You've made it this far, which means you're keen to give Touch Rugby a go. Unfortunately, all leagues are on hold for the Summer Season.

If you don't want to miss any announcements about upcoming Touch Rugby opportunities near you, click the link below to register your interest and we promise to keep in TOUCH (yup....we went there!)

Where is it happening?

These were the venues that hosted Touch Rugby in 2018, but we’re always keen to add more if there is the demand.  Don’t see a touch option in your area?  Contact Darcy Patterson (dpatterson@bcrugby.com) and let her know where we should expand to next!
