About NextGen Sevens

BC Rugby’s NextGen Sevens Program, sponsored by Marcon, is focused on identifying and developing senior talent for Rugby Sevens events.  The program is open to male and female athletes who were born before 2001 (U19 and older).  The program includes a talent identification process, leading to final team selections and training sessions.  More details about the process can be found below.  Selected teams will have the opportunity to represent BC in tournaments in both Canada and the USA, including The Vancouver Sevens Invitational and Las Vegas Invitational.

2020 ID Sessions

Men's ID Camps:

These ID sessions will be used as a selection tool for the upcoming 2020 BC NextGen Men's.  Sessions will consist of skill assessment and will evaluate the players understanding of the game of Sevens. These sessions will be rather light with short bursts of intensity testing players ability to perform under pressure.  Sessions are non-contact.
Note: UVic and UBC players will not be selected for the Vancouver Sevens Invitational due to University 7s Championships be held the same day, however, they are expected to be at these ID sessions if they plan on playing in the summer tournaments.
