About High School Girls' Rugby

The BC Girls' High School Rugby Association (BCGHSRA) is responsible for the management and execution of both XVs and Sevens Rugby for female High School teams in the Province.  BC Rugby supports the BCGHSRA in the running of leagues and championship events.

 About High School Girls’ Sevens Championships

The BC Rugby High School Girls’ Provincial Sevens Championship will be taking place at Klahanie Park on April 25th/26th, 2019. 

Day 1 action will centre on pool matches for all teams.

Day 2  will start with quarter-final matches, with advancing teams will move on to the semi-finals and finals. 

Live Streaming:
All Field 1 matches on Day 2 will be live streamed via SportsCanada.TV

Venue:
This year’s tournament will take place at Klahanie Park on the North Shore.  

Admission / tickets:
No tickets are required for the event. Admission is free.

About High School Girls’ XVs 

The BC Rugby High School Girls’ Provincial XVs Leagues are run throughout the months of March-May. 

In 2018 there were 70 teams that participated across the Province showing the Association and individual zones and schools are having a positive impact on growth of the game. 

Each region or zone is responsible for organizing their respective leagues. Each league has differences based on geography, weather, number of teams etc.

About High School Girls’ XVs Championships

Day 3 will see the Finals played, as teams compete for division titles

Coach Accreditation

The minimum standard for coaching in BC is to have a certificate in Rugby Ready and Concussion Management for the General Public. Both of these certificates are available as online courses through World Rugby. They take 30 minutes to complete and need to be renewed every 2 years. Renewal each year is recommended.
