Vancouver, BC - May 4, 2018: There are less than 24 hrs until the start of the 2018 BC Rugby Club Finals, when 18 Teams from across British Columbia will contest nine Provincial Championships at Abbotsford’s Exhibition Park. The teams will represent a total of 11 clubs from Island to Interior, each seeking to lay claim to the title of champion for their respective divisions.
The day will kick off at 10:30am with the Women’s Division 2 Final between Capilano RFC and East Vancouver’s Scribes RFC, and conclude with the Final of the BC Men’s Premier League, presented by Onni, kicking off at 4.30pm. Taking place within the Rotary Stadium, that match pitches UBC Thunderbirds against their graduated foes, the UBC Old Boys RFC.
That match will also feature top Canadian talent with the likes of Ben LeSage and Michael Smith taking the field for UBC, and UBCOB Ravens fielding Karsten Leitner and Jorden Sandover-Best.
The Women's Premier League Final, presented by belairdirect, sees defending champions Westshore RFC take on Burnaby Lake RFC and both teams will also host talented lineups. Top Canadian players like Carolyn McEwen (BLRC), Brittany and Courtney Sims (Westshore) and Paige Farries (Westshore) will all take to the Rotary Stadium field at 2.45pm.
Gates will open at 10am and adult tickets available for just $15 on the day; minors go free. Spectators will be well catered for throughout the day with Helm’s Mobile Kitchen food truck and Red Truck beer garden available within the Rotary Stadium. Free parking is available on site and sports fans are encouraged to make it a day out with eight hours of action-packed rugby on offer.
