Vancouver, BC – Thursday 19, 2017: BC Rugby is delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the Hall of Fame. Those selected will be officially inducted at a gala dinner on Saturday 13th January during the BC Rugby Conference 2018.
Rugby in the province of British Columbia can be traced back to the 1860’s. Since the earliest days, the sport has flourished in our province. The success of rugby in British Columbia is attributed to those players, coaches, referees and administrators who have, over the years, given much of their time, effort and expertise. The BC Rugby Hall of Fame was established to honour those individuals and teams who, through their commitment to excellence, left a profound legacy on the development of rugby in British Columbia.
A total of 34 individuals and 2 teams have already been inducted into the Hall of Fame, reflecting a wide range of contributions to the sport. Players, coaches & match officials abound but there are also those who supported the game in more subtle ways, through administration, photography, journalism and teaching.
