2014 National University Sevens Finals Day set for Sunday in Langford
Women's Cup Final sees U.of Lethbridge Longhorns face McMaster Marauders; Men's Cup Semi-Finals pits Queens vs UBC and UVIC Vikes vs UVIC Norsemen

LANGFORD, BC – Finals Day of the 2014 National University Sevens Rugby Championship kicks off at 9am Pacific Time on Sunday after two days of exciting rugby at Westhills Stadium and the Canadian Rugby Centre of Excellence in Langford, British Columbia on Friday and Saturday.

13 men's and 13 women's teams were seeded after pool play on Day One and into Day Two, before the knock-out stages began on Saturday afternoon.

Men’s Day Two Wrap-Up:
 
The UBC Thunderbirds, lead by three tries from Canada Sevens player Sean Ferguson, won their Quarter-Final game 22-0 over Kingston, Ontario's Royal Military College. Following an earlier loss to the UVIC Vikes, Queens responded with a dominant 36-0 victory over Humber in their Cup Quarter-Final. UBC and Queens will face off in the first Semi-Finals on Sunday at 9:44am PT.
 
In other Quarter-Finals, the hometown UVIC Vikes easily handled Waterloo 57-0 and the UVIC Norsemen upset the 2012 tournament champions from Western University 21-12. The two sides from Gordon head will square off in the Cup Semi-Finals at 10:06am Pacific Time.
 
In the bowl competition Calgary will face Mount Royal at 12:08pm PT.
 
Women’s Day Two Wrap Up:
 
One of the biggest upsets of the day on the women’s side was Guelph’s Quarter-Final game against McMaster. Lead by Canada U-20 standout Cindy Nelles, the seventh-ranked Marauders defeated the two-time defending champions 12-10 to eliminate the second-ranked Guelph side from Cup competition. In the other Cup Quarter-Finals, U.of Alberta defeated the UBC Thunderbirds 21-12, Humber fell 17-12 in overtime to the UVIC Vikes and Lethbridge defeated Western 15-5.

In the Cup Semi-Finals, McMaster easily handled last year's runner-ups from U.of Alberta 35-0, while the UVIC Vikes were narrowly bested 7-5 in an exciting finish to Day Two.

Sunday's Women's Finals will see McMaster face Lethbridge in the Cup competition at 11:38am PT, UVIC vs Alberta in the 3rd/4th game at 11:16am PT and Western versus Guelph in the Plate Championships at 10:52am PT.
