VANCOUVER, BC -  BC Rugby has renewed its partnership with X-treme Rugby Wear for an additional three years, it was announced today. The agreement will see X-treme Rugby Wear remain as the Official Supplier of On-Field Kit for BC Rugby and its Sub Unions through 2017.

"We are absolutely delighted to be renewing our long-term relationship with X-treme Rugby Wear," said BC Rugby Chief Executive Officer Jim Dixon. "Eddie Evans and his team are passionate about the development of BC Rugby's players and coaches. They are a true reflection of the spirit of rugby in our province. We are proud to have them as a partner and I sincerely hope the BC Rugby community will support X-treme Rugby Wear whenever possible."

X-treme Rugby Wear founder Eddie Evans is a former BC provincial rep and was once Canada's most capped player with 50 when he retired from the game. Evans appeared in three World Cups and was part of Canadian teams that took down elite rugby powers Argentina, France, Scotland and an England XV side.

X-Treme Rugby Wear is now a major world-wide company with customers and sales representatives across the globe.

"We are very proud of our affiliation and support of rugby in British Columbia," said Evans. "We have been proud BC Rugby Union sponsors for the last seven years and are thrilled to be involved for the next three years as well. We would like to say thank you to our loyal customers who make it possible for us to in turn give back to local rugby."

Evans now splits his time between Canada and Bangkok, where X-Treme's factory is located. When in Thailand, Evans continues to give back to the community through sport. Evans is the founder of the Nak Suu Tigers, an academy program that uses rugby to empower impoverished youth in Bangkok's less fortunate communities. The program has grown to see nearly 300 children from five different slum communities meet on a weekly basis to learn the game and be part of a positive environment.
