contest, but Fraser Valley responded to quickly take the lead.  But another try gave Vancouver Island the lead back right before half time, and it was one that they didn’t give up again.

Fraser Valley controlled the play in the final 10 minutes, pinning Vancouver Island in their own end and threatening to take the lead, but the Tsunami consistently came up big, never fully breaking and holding their ground.

Overall, Mills cited the weekend as a great experience for his squad.

“[The tournament] was fabulous. Every girl played a lot, … I think having all these girls playing rugby — learning, [having] a new experience — is a win for us.”

U16 Women Bronze: Vancouver 0 - 15 Fraser Valley Development
In a low-scoring and hard-hitting affair that was tied at halftime, Fraser Valley Development eventually broke down Vancouver’s defence and scored three tries in the second half. They then shut the door on defence to close out the game, stifling any Vancouver chances to keep them off the board en route to clinching the bronze medal.
