PRCs: North Island Tsunami release U16 girls trial dates

The Tsunami Rugby Academy is holding selection camps for the U-16 Girls Tsunami team that will compete in the Provincial Regional Championships (PRCs) at UBC in Vancouver, June 22nd - 23rd. All athletes born in 1997 and 1998 living in on Vancouver Island are encouraged to try-out for this representative team.

U-16 Girls
Born in 1997 and 1998

Open Trial Session:
Date: Saturday, June 1st
Time: 10:00AM – 3:00PM
Location: Nanaimo (6704 Dover Rd., Nanaimo)

Closed Practice Sessions:
Date: Saturday, June 8th
Time: 10:00AM – 3:00PM
Location: Nanaimo (6704 Dover Rd., Nanaimo)

Date: Saturday, June 15th
Time: 10:00AM – 3:00PM
Location: Nanaimo (6704 Dover Rd., Nanaimo)

Provincial Regional Championships (PRCs):
Date: June 22nd – 23rd
Location: Wolfson Fields,
University of British Columbia (UBC)

Attendance Policy: there is an expectation that athletes wishing to earn a spot on this representative side must show up to all training sessions. Exceptions can be made for extenuating circumstances but these instances should be communicated with U-16 Girls Tsunami Manager David Crossley [dcrossle@ca.ibm.com] as soon as possible.

Availability: all athletes should be immediately check and reserve the June 22nd-23rd PRCs dates in their calendars.

Cost: the 2-day tournament has an approximate cost of $200 per athlete which covers nearly all expenses. This includes: their kit, breakfast and dinners, snacks at lunch, accommodations, and transportation (ferry and bus). Athletes who are not registered athletes with BC Rugby/Rugby Canada for the 2012-2013 rugby season are required to do so; there is an additional fee for this insurance.

Practices: athletes should bring appropriate rugby wear to all practices (e.g. cleats, on field attire, and mouth guards) along with a water bottle and a snack for lunch; sunscreen would also be advised if temperatures continue to rise.

Registration Forms: athletes are required to fill in a Tsunami Academy Player Profile and either send it to U-16 Girls Tsunami Manager David Crossley or bring the profile form to the first practice.
