Okanagan Rugby Union spring season underway

The 2013 Okaganan Rugby Union season is currently underway and after three rounds Kelowna (2-0) and Penticton (2-0) are currently the only teams left undefeated in league play. The 11-week senior men's club competition got underway on April 6th with Kelowna defeating Vernon 32-10 and Penticton downing West Kelowna 41-0.

Week two saw Vernon down Manthers 21-10 and Penticton edge Merritt 18-14. The past weekend (April 21st) saw Merrit just slip by West Kelowna 20-19 and Kelowna defeat Manthers 45-31.

The upcoming weekend will see Manthers away to Pencticton and Kelowna on April 27th. Sunday, April 28th will feature Penticton at West Kelowna and Vernon on the road to West Kelowna.

Key dates for the 2013 season include the popular Penticton Sunfest on June 8-9 and the semifinals are set for June 22nd. June 29th will be a bye weekend with the ORU Championship final set for July 6th.
