Vancouver-based rugby official Sherry Trumbull has been appointed as Referee for two 2013 Women's Six Nations championship games, it was announced earlier this week by the IRB. Trumbull will referee the February 3rd Wales vs Ireland fixture as well as the February 10th Scotland fixture between Scotland and Italy. The announcement comes just a month after Trumbull officiated the England vs New Zealand Black Ferns Test match at Twickenham in early December.

Trumbull has been a member of Rugby Canadaís National Panel of Referees since 2010 but has also been a member of the IRB Female Referee Panel since its inception in 2010.  In late 2012, the IRB appointed Trumbull as one of six members of the IRB High Performance Referee Panel as well as one of nine appointed to the IRB Rugby Sevens Female Referee Panel.

Trumbull was appointed to referee at the 2010 IRB Womenís World Cup and has also received similar appointments to Six Nations games in Scotland and France, Womenís European Trophy games in Spain, FIRA European Championships in France and Nations Cup internationals in Toronto.

In 2011, Trumbull was invited to attend the IRBís Referee Talent Identification Program conducted annually at Stellenbosch University in South Africa; an international High Performance development workshop that had previously been exclusive to male coaches and male referees from around the world.
