ABBOTSFORD - This week's BC Rugby Junior MVP is U18 Abbotsford standout Tiffany Picketts. The Fraser Valley rep was nominated this week due to her outstanding leadership in Abbotsford’s first game of the women's U18 club season, a 39-5 win over the Richmond-Brit Lions.

Tiffany was nominated by her coach Jen Ross.

Name: Tiffany Picketts
Club:  Abbotsford RFC
Players Division: U18 Women
Year Played: 6 years
Rep Rugby: BC U18 Women (Nationals),  Fraser Valley 15’s (PRCs), Fraser Valley 7’s (BC Summer Games)
About Tiffany...
Tiffany is a gifted athlete who commands attention whether she is playing rugby, volleyball, basketball or softball.   Following a year of amazing success  with both Abbotsford RFC and at Abbotsford Collegiate in both 7’s and 15’s, Tiffany finally stepped onto the pitch to play some representative rugby this past summer.  Her size and athleticism helped lead her Fraser Valley 15’s team to a gold medal at the 2012 B2Gold PRCs and her 7’s team to a silver medal finish at the BC Summer Games. Her performances led to her inclusion on this year’s BC U18 women's provincial team that finished in third place at the National Festival in Quebec.
"Her commitment to her sport, her team mates and coaches is top notch," says Ross. "Participating this fall in the Pacific Sport’s Ignite Program, she is constantly striving to improve her all around athletic skill.   Feared by opponents on the field, Tiffany is rarely seen without a smile. With hard running and quick thinking, she loves the contact but is also an accurate goal kicker."

"Tiffany was nominated this week due to her outstanding leadership in Abbotsford’s first game of the season this past Sunday," Ross adds.  "Physically dominant, her ability to keep things flowing, calm and organized while having 29 other team mates take the field within a 60 minute game was amazing.  Leading comes from within Tiffany and Abbotsford RFC [are proud] to recognize her as our Junior Player of the Week."

This weekend Tiffany and Abbotsford RFC head to Burnaby Lake for round two of the Women's U18 season.
