All Potential Maccabi Athletes:

Any senior men's level rugby players of Jewish heritage are encouraged and welcomed to trial for the 2013 Canada Maccabi Rugby program, which will play in Israel from July 14-31, 2013.

Off a very encouraging finish in 2009, we will be aiming to medal in this sport for the first time and to continue to develop the program, which competes against other Maccabi national sides such as the USA, South Africa, Australia and the full Israel national team.

Trials will be held for Eastern Canadian athletes at Markham Irish Rugby Club, on August 12, 2012 from 10 am to noon; and for Western Canadian athletes in Richmond on August 19, 2012, from 1 pm to 3 pm.

Interested athletes must register with Maccabi Canada at www.maccabicanada.com as soon as possible. Athletes are responsible for their own transport and lodging when attending trials.

Those selected will be expected to participate in fundraising and to make their own contribution to make up the balance of the cost of participation.

The team will be selected early this fall so that players and staff have as much time to prepare as possible.

Note that there will not be any other trial dates and that players who cannot make either trial will be able to submit game video as a minimum standard for consideration.

Please register today and any questions you may contact me on the email below
