- Selection camp scheduled for May 20th at UBC's Wolfson Fields
- BC U23 vs St Andrew's on June 13th
- BC U23 vs Durham University on July 6th
VANCOUVER - BC Rugby will be fielding a U23 men's provincial team this summer for a two-match series against touring sides St. Andrew's University of Scotland and Durham University from England.
The match against St. Andrew's is currently scheduled for June 13th at Brockton Oval and the Durham University match will be on July 6th at UBC. Final kick off times will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
An open camp will be held at UBC in Vancouver on Sunday, May 20th to select players to represent BC.
"We were approached to see if we could provide games against these two university teams and it seemed appropriate that we should try and re-engage some of the players that have graduated from our regional U20 teams as well as some of the Canada U20 graduates," said Dave Brown, BC Rugby Provincial Coach and Development Manager. "It will also provide an opportunity for other players in the province to get involved with our programs."
All players born in and after 1989 are eligible to try out for the BC U23 Men's Team. The open camp at UBC will start at 11:00am and run to 4:00pm. All players interested in attending the camp should contact Dave Brown through email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
