Vancouver, BC: Two undefeated teams in the Women's Adidas Premiership will go head-to-head this weekend when the reigning provincial champions Burnaby Lake Rugby Club take on Lower Mainland rivals United Rugby Club.

STANDINGS / SCHEDULE

Women's Adidas Premiership - Sat. February 25th:
Capilano RFC at Velox Valkyries (Velox RFC) 11:30am
CANCELLED SFU Rugby at Meraloma Rugby Club (Connaught Park) 11:30am
Bayside RFC at UVic Vikes (Wallace Field) 11:30am
CANCELLED Burnaby Lake Rugby Club at United Rugby Club (Hume Park) 11:30am

Burnaby Lake (3-0) vs United (3-0)
No. 3 United currently sit one point back of table leaders Burnaby Lake and Velox who are level on top of the standings with 15 points each. Burnaby's defence has been ruthless as they have now gone three straight weeks without allowing their opponents to score. United are averaging 30.67 points per game and boast the league's leading scoring in Candace Barry. United's kicker has accounted for 32 of their total 92 points this season, notching four tries and six conversions. The last time these two sides met in Adidas Premiership play, Burnaby knocked United out of the 2011 semifinals with a 34-5 decision.

SFU (1-2) vs Meraloma (0-2)
Newcomers to the province's top flight, no. 5 SFU will look to rebound from a 79-0 defeat handed to them by Velox last weekend. SFU's offence is currently led by former BC Under-20 standout Demi Stamatakis, who has 16 points in three outings. Fresh off a bye weekend in the schedule, No.7 Meraloma Rugby Club will be looking for their first win of the season.

Bayside Sharks (1-2) vs UVic (0-2)
Heading into the 2012 Premiership season, no.4 Bayside were touted as the dark horse of the league. Bayside went 4-2 during the Fall season and narrowly lost 6-0 in the Lower Mainland championship to Burnaby Lake. Since defeating SFU 51-12 back in week one, Bayside lost 51-0 to Burnaby and were blanked 17-0 by United. The Sharks will look to get things back on track this saturday against the winless no.8 Uvic Vikes. The Vikes played the league's top two teams to open the season and are fresh off a bye weekend heading into Saturday's encounter.

Capilano (0-3) vs Velox (3-0)
The last time these two sides squared off was in the 2011 Adidas Premiership semifinals and Velox came away with a 26-20 victory. Velox eventually finished as runners-up to Burnaby in the provincial final and then went undefeated during the 2011 Fall season to clinch another Vancouver Island title. The Valkyries are topping the scoring charts averaging a league-best 48.67 ppg. Former BC U23 provincial captain Jesse Olynyk has been at the forefront of the Velox attack, recording a league-best six tries and ranks second in overall scoring. Velox recorded tries through seven different players last weekend against SFU, four of them were notched by Olynyk.
