Aledergrove, BC: This weekend Rugby Canada will be hosting a Canada West development camp in Aldergrove to identify talent and choose a squad for the upcoming Canada U-19 tour to England in 2012. The trial runs from December 1-4 and involves players from BC to Manitoba. Local players Connor Hunter (Aldergrove grad) and Jorden Best (Robert Bateman) have been chosen to attend the camp.
On Sunday, Dec 4, the Canada West U-19 squad will take on a Valley Select side comprised of nearly 30 young players from local Fraser Valley clubs. The game is at Aldergrove Community School at 10am on the 4th. A number of Abbotsford players will be representing the Fraser Valley on this team, including a large number of Abbotsford U-19 players who just finished as Mainland Finalists in the Tier 1 U-19 league.
Canada Coach Paul Connelly will be working with the boys during this trial. He and his team of coaches just finished a strong trial in Eastern Canada at Uxbridge Secondary School.
