Maple Leafs are Victoria International Sevens champs

The Canadian Maple
Leafs won the senior competition of the inaugural Victoria International
Sevens, defeating Fijian side Ratu Filise 35-19 in the cup final. The
Maple Leafs roster featured a number of current sevens internationals
including Canadian Captain Phil Mack, Thyssen De Goede, Beau Parker,
John Moonlight, Sean Ferguson and Sean Duke. In the pool rounds the
Maple Leafs defeated the Barbarians 27-0, downed the Molly Maids 19-5,
and trounced the Cayman Islands 66-0. Carrying their form into the
playoff rounds, the Maple Leafs defeated the 'Young Maple Leafs,' a team
also labelled 'Young Canada' 40-5 in the Cup Quarter Final.
In
the Plate Final, the Young Canada side produced an impressive 36-5 win
over the Molly Maids. The Bowl was taken home by the Barbarians with a
17-10 win over Mexico. The shield went to the Vancouver Island Crimson
Tide after they narrowly defeated the Cayman Islands 25-22.
