Castaway Wanderers RFC is excited to offer a new program for girls aged 13-15yrs (Grade 6-9) to promote the game of rugby in an all-girls format. This is a development program focused on the fundamentals of the game (running, passing, kicking and tackling). Competition will be structured as a house league with selected games versus Lower Mainland and "up island" all-girls teams where competition can be found (fixtures are currently being arranged).

The program is inclusive with no tiered teams and the primary goal is development with an emphasis on fun and team play for the girls.
Program Format: CW is cognizant of the demands of other sports on our youth and has scheduled the program to minimize conflicts with other programs (soccer, basketball, etc).

As a result, the program is structured as follows:

Development Sessions: 1.5 hours, Sunday mornings, 10:00am to 11:30am

Duration: September March (break between Dec-Jan)

Location: Currently being finalized.

Age range Grade 6-9 as of Sept. 1, 2011

Cost: $250 which includes full Pro-Fit kit (jersey, socks, shorts), insurance, juice & snacks after every session, and certified coaches.

Competition format will range from 10 aside to 7 aside in a house league** format as well as games with other school and club teams. Full to half field depending on numbers and game formats.
