Note: The camp has been moved to July 17-22nd.
With the support of Rugby Canada and the BC Rugby Union, Shawnigan Lake School will be hosting the 2nd Annual Residential Summer Rugby Camp from July 17th to 22nd, 2011.
The Shawnigan Lake School Rugby Academy will feature a Residential Coaching Clinic led by Scott Johnson, Director of Coaching from the Osprey Rugby Organization in Wales. Johnson has a wide experience as a coach with club teams as well as the Welsh, USA Eagles and Australian national teams.
Coinciding with the coaching clinic will be a Residential Rugby Camp for experienced rugby players, boys and girls, between 15 and 17 years of age.
Canada's best youth coaching staff, lead by Jim Delaney (Canadian U17 Coach) will focus on skill development and games to ensure that each participant enjoys the experience and recognizes what it takes to play rugby at a national level. Guest appearances by Kieran Crowley (Canadian Senior Men’s Coach) and John Tait (National Women’s Head Coach for XV’s and 7’s.) will also be made.
This year we are offering a Day Camp for both boys and girls who live in southern Vancouver Island. Free transportation will be provided from Mayfair Mall in Victoria each morning at 8:00am, Monday to Friday, returning in the evening at 5:30pm.
