Mike James was born in Vancouver and was a long time member of the Canadian national team and played professionally overseas in France. James played lock for Stade Français and was part of the teams that won the French Premiership titles in 2003, 2004 and 2007 and was also selected to play for the prestigious French Barbarians. James has since returned to BC where he remains a member of the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club.
