U17 Women:
The Women's event continued with an early 7.30am start as the final two
rounds of the second round robin concluded. Thompson Okanagan started the
day with a convincing win over Vancouver-Squamish and looked set for a place
in the final. Fraser Valley then beat Vancouver Island to move into 2nd
place on the table and ensure the Finalists would be decided in the last
round. Valley then beat Thompson Okanagan, winning its fifth game in a row

to beat out Thompson Okanagan on the tie-breaker head to head result. Island
won 5-0 and progressed to meet the Valley for the 2nd time of the morning.
The 5th/6th placement game saw Cariboo, with two tries from Jammie Carrier,
overcome Fraser River Delta 15-7. In the Bronze Medal Game, Vancouver
Squamish, with Jess Nielson outstanding, scored late and beat Thompson
Okanagan 12-10. The Gold Medal Game went to form and with the tournament's
leading scorer, Natalie Teleris, notching a hatrick of tries (taking her
total to 18), the Valley overcame a Vancouver Island Team, determined to
retain its 2008 Tile, 20-7.
Natalie Teleris topped the points chart with 92 points, followed by her
team mate Sarah Gordon on 47 and then Jess Nielson on 46 and Thompson
Okanagan's Catie Ryan on 45 (9 tries).
