Ladies and Gentlemen,
Another year has gone by and we're getting ready for yet another Rustlers Rugby Tournament. This year the tournament will be held on Saturday June 30 and Sunday July 1, 2012. There will be a menís 15-a-side division, a ladiesí 10 a-side division, and an old boys division age limit 38. We have a sponsor and will have belt buckles this year for the old boys division (we hope the WLRFC old boys donít get a default victory).
This is our 33nd annual tournament and we hope to continue the tradition of good rugby and a great weekend of socializing at our clubhouse. This year in the Menís Division all teams will play two games on Saturday and then be ranked from 1st to 16th, the entrants will then be broken into Championship (1st to 8th) and a Consolation (9th to 16th) Division. Both divisions will play single knock-out on Sunday for the coveted Stampede belt buckles.
The format for the Ladies 10-a-side will be a Divisional Round Robin event with play-offs on Sunday. Entries will be limited to 16 Menís Teams and 16 Ladies Teams and as many old boys teams that can attend. All players must be CRU members in good standing. We would appreciate a roster in advance if available but will require a roster before your first games on Saturday. Camping spots will be available around the field, on a first come first serve basis. Friday evening the deck will be open from 7pm to 1am so please stop in for a refreshment.
Festivities include a Licensed Beer Garden, Concession, and a Dinner Saturday night. Theme night on the deck Friday night this yearís theme will be cowboys/girls and Indians. There will be prizes for best dressed.
If your club is interested in attending, we would appreciate your reply along with a cheque for $700 for Men with a roster of 22 players all other players will pay 10$ a head. Womenís entry fee will be $500 with a roster limit of 15 players all other players will be 10$ a head. This amount includes a $200.00 deposit which is refundable upon clean-up of campsite and completion of all game commitments. Old boys teams entry fee will be $500 this includes a 100$ refundable deposit. If you want a hotel, you will need to book early.
A Tournament Information Package will available at the clubhouse on Thursday night, listing game schedules, tournament events, parties and any other hoopla that is on the agenda. Please reply as early as possible if your team is interested in attending.
