BCEY7s Open Trial (Vancouver)

Vancouver, BC: After a successful tour to Las Vegas, the BC Elite Youth Sevens program will continue to search for talent by holding a series of open ID camps/clinics in some of the provincial regions over the next few months.

The program will now turn its attention to the next group of elite athletes and will be holding ID sessions open to any Under-16 (born in 96/97) male athletes. These sessions will consist of fitness testing, skills and games.

This past weekend, Thompson held camps in Victoria and Nanaimo and was pleased with the turnout. Up next, the BCEY7s wil be holding an open session on March 10th, 2012 at UBC’s Wolfson Fields in Vancouver.

The BCEY7s program is currently planning more ID sessions in other regions around BC. These dates will be posted on www.bcrugby.com in the next few months.

About the BCEY7s program:    
As a result of rugby sevens being included into the Olympic games for 2016 & 2020, the British Columbia Rugby Union has developed the BC Elite Youth Sevens program. The program is geared towards identifying, training and developing athletes who can go on to represent their Regions, their Province and Canada at Age Grade Level and beyond.
