When did you first start playing rugby?
When I was 11 years old on my grade 5 elementary school team.
How did you get introduced to the sport?
My dad and uncle played so I was often around the game and was always interested in playing myself.
What do you think are values that rugby teaches/instills in players?
Personally I think the most important values rugby instills in players are resilience, work ethic, and teamwork.
What are some of your career highlights?
Winning silver at the Youth Commonwealth Games, playing for the senior team in Dubai last year and winning Rugby Canada’s Young Player of the Year Award for 2015 have all been surreal experiences.
Who is your role model?
My dad is probably my biggest role model because I’ve never met anyone else with his kind of work ethic and passion for the game!
What is your message to young girls who want to try rugby?
I would say there is no other sport like rugby! The bonds you form with your teammates are for a lifetime and there is no environment more supportive and accepting.
Outside of rugby, what are some of your hobbies/interests?
I love to cook, or anything that involves food!
