When did Callum first start playing rugby?
Callum first started with rugby when he was 4 years old and he was enrolled in United Rugby’s Pre-K program.
How did he get introduced to the sport?
Callum started playing rugby to help with his Autism. Being involved in a team sport was extremely helpful with his socialization and running, catching, kicking and passing a ball helped in the development of his gross motor skills.
What are Callum’s favourite things about playing rugby?
Being part of his team the Surrey Mini Beavers, kicking the ball to start play and of course scoring tries!
What are some of Callum’s goals/dreams for the future?
Callum wants to be quite a few things – a scientist, a fireman, a video game designer, an All Black or play for Team Canada.
Who is Callum’s role models and why?
Richie McCaw he always led by example giving his all to the game and his team, and Dan Carter, Callum loved watching Carter kick a rugby ball.
What was Callum’s experience like when he was a ball carrier for the HSBC Canada Sevens tournament?
Callum had an amazing time as a HSBC ball carrier. He loved every minute of it, from eating cheese burgers in the HSBC Corporate box seats. To meeting Brian O’Driscoll who along with Sir Gordon Tietjens autographed his HSBC jersey and his All Blacks mini rugby ball. Running the ball onto the field for the All Blacks vs Argentina game was definitely the highlight of his weekend.
